Create a Star Citizen Account
Since mid-June 2020, the process for creating a Star Citizen account has been simplified, and authentication to access the site uses your email address as your username. In addition, two-factor authentication via email is now enabled by default.
Creating an account is non-binding, but it is a necessary step if you want to enjoy a free flight or eventually purchase a game pack.
Start by going to the Enlist Now page, which will take you directly to the account creation process. Or, from the RSI website, click on the "SIGN-IN" button at the top of the page. In the submenu that appears, under the line "No account? Create one!", click on "Create one!" to access the account creation page.
All you have to do is fill out the form with the following information:
Account Name
This will be your username.
Choose it carefully, as it is the public name that will identify you to other players, both in and out of the game.
Email
This is the email address that will be associated with your RSI account.
It is used for authentication to access your online account and the game, and will also be used for the site's two-factor authentication, which will be implemented later and is now enabled by default.
Password
Your password for identification purposes.
It must be at least 8 characters long, contain at least one capital letter and one number or symbol, and must be different from your account name.
Birth Date
Your year of birth in month/day/year format.
Referral Code
This is a referral code from a friend or another player. Although optional, it is always a good idea to specify a Referral Code when creating your account. This will allow you to benefit from a bonus of 50,000 UEC once in the game, "UEC" being the game's currency.
Please note that if you do not specify this code when creating your account, you will only have 24 hours to do so. After this time, you will no longer be able to add one and obtain the 50,000 UEC extra credit, or any other forms of rewards from the referral program (such as a possible referral bonus). The Referral Code page explains all this in more detail.
If you don't have a code when you create your account, you can always use the one from citizen-logbook.com:
STAR-QP2M-YLS3
Note that if you used the Enlist Now link at the beginning of this article, the Referral Code field will be pre-filled with the citizen-logbook.com code, but you can delete it and replace it with a friend's code if you already have one available.
Stay Informed & Agrement
The last two steps of the form are two checkboxes.
The first is optional and allows you to subscribe to the Squadron 42 newsletter to stay informed about its progress. The second is mandatory, as it allows you to accept CIG's terms of use and privacy policy.
Once completed, all you have to do is validate the form.
Then check your email, where you will receive a confirmation message to validate your email address.
